Overview

The walt.id Issuer API allows you to issue Microsoft Entra Verified ID credentials. The issued credentials can be claimed by users with a supported wallet. (Microsoft Authenticator, walt.id web-wallet).

To issue Microsoft Entra Verified ID credentials you need a Microsoft Azure account with Microsoft Entra Verified ID setup. If you don't have that yet, please have a look at the Microsoft docs.

The walt.id Issuer API will interface with Microsoft APIs to issue configured credentials in your Azure account. For that you will need to create an app within your Azure Cloud Account. This app setup will provide the necessary credentials for the Issuer API to authenticate against Microsoft's APIs.

Credentials Configured In Your Azure Account need to use Id token hint attestation to be able to provide subject claim values for the to be issued credential via the walt.id issuer API. Learn more here.
